CHAS accreditation,
done for you

NOETA takes your existing documents, maps them against the SSIP Core Criteria, identifies gaps, prepares missing documents, and delivers a submission-ready evidence pack.

Background

What is CHAS?

CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) is the UK's leading SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) member scheme. It provides a single point of pre-qualification for contractors wanting to work with major clients, local authorities, housing associations, and principal contractors.

CHAS Standard accreditation demonstrates that your company meets the 15 SSIP Core Criteria — the baseline H&S competence standard recognised across the construction industry.

Without it, you cannot appear on many approved contractor lists. Procurement teams rely on CHAS to verify health and safety capability before awarding work.

Who needs it

Who needs CHAS?

Contractors applying for local authority or housing association approved lists

Subcontractors whose principal contractor requires SSIP accreditation

Companies bidding for commercial refurbishment or fit-out projects

Contractors working on public sector frameworks

Companies using CHAS as proof of H&S competence for insurance purposes

Any business that has outgrown informal H&S arrangements

Process

What NOETA does

1

Structured intake

We ask exactly what CHAS needs to know — your company profile, activities, workforce, H&S arrangements, and insurance. This drives every subsequent check.

2

Document analysis

Upload your existing policies, risk assessments, insurance certificates, and training records. NOETA reads each document and extracts the structured data CHAS assessors look for.

3

Gap identification

Every gap is explained in plain language. You see exactly what is missing, what is present but inadequate, and what passes without issue.

4

Document preparation

Where documents are missing or inadequate, NOETA prepares a trade-specific draft for you to review. H&S policies, risk assessments, incident logs — all tailored to your company.

5

Submission pack

A complete, submission-ready ZIP file containing all documents in the format CHAS expects. Download and upload directly to the VeriforceONE portal.
